I don’t know about where you live, but where I’m from (Ottawa, Canada), November means the beginning of the dark and cold nights that set the tone for what’s yet to come aka the highly dreaded ridiculously cold Canadian winter. (No we don’t live in igloos but we do get 30cm of snow and -40 degree Celsius weather 🙃🙃🙃). During these times, my music preference often tends to shift a little bit and I find myself listening to smoother, slower, and much more mellow tracks.

The 1975’s “Somebody Else” is the epitome of smooth and serves as a perfect complement to the November mood and vibe. However, Ireland-based Jack Casey, otherwise known as EMBRZ, provides us with his take on the song that manages to maintain the same effect as the original but takes it to an entirely different level. The original beat is kept in his flip however he adds a dope slap bass throughout the chorus which gives it a subtle and chill yet simultaneously hype electronic  sound. The end result is probably one of the chillest melancholy type tracks that’s absolutely perfect to snuggle to during the long and gloomy winter days that lie ahead.
